According to The Athletic, Liverpool will let psychological experts provide guidance to the players.

Jota's unexpected death has put Liverpool's players and staff in great sorrow, but the team must also start preparing for the new season. This Tuesday, most of Liverpool players will gather, and the club's psychologist Lee Richardson will also open the door for everyone.

Richardson has won the trust of many players since joining Liverpool in 2019. When he was a player, he had witnessed his teammates being troubled by various psychological problems because they often deal with stress in unhealthy ways, such as drinking.

Richardson and his brother Nick founded AIM-FOR, a performance analysis company in 2010, and established an online mental health support platform called "Safety Net" that provides information and help on a range of issues ranging from stress to bereavement. Subsequently, this platform was adopted by the Professional Football Players Association.

Last October, Jota had a conversation with Richardson in a video discussing progress made in eliminating mental health barriers. Richardson revealed that he asked Slott to ask players to fill out a questionnaire about mental health every few weeks. In the interview, Jota said that these questionnaires sent to players are a useful tool, providing them with opportunities and space to think.

Now, some players will remember their friends by returning to the court and feel the support and warmth of club fans. In this case, no one will put pressure on it, only understanding and support. But the shock and grief were difficult to dissipate for a while, so the club will provide a lot of necessary professional assistance.
