NVIDIA (NVIDIA) announced at the OCP Global Summit 2025 conference this year that data centers have entered the era of 800 VDC (volt direct current) power revolution, and announced a list of infrastructure partners. These partners will be used for the Kyber rack server architecture (576 Rubin Ultra GPUs per rack). The goal is expected to be achieved in 2027. Foreign investors named 4 Taiwanese manufacturers as construction pioneers.

Foreign investors stated that although this is just a list of partners and does not mean that these manufacturers have directly obtained the project, 800 VDC allows the power transmitted through the same copper wire to increase by more than 150% without the need to add an additional 200 kilograms of copper busbars to a single server rack. This not only saves costs, but also reduces the weight of the server rack.

Foreign investors pointed out that according to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s disclosure, more than 20 partners are currently working together to provide rack servers using open standards to promote future megawatt-scale AI factories, including chip factories, data center power system suppliers, and power system component suppliers. Now every country has regarded AI as the next industrial revolution, and is optimistic that market demand will continue to grow in the future.

Foreign investors emphasize that they are optimistic that 800 VDC will expand the overall market size of data center power and cooling, and the compound annual growth rate from 2026 to 2030 is expected to reach 30%. For example, Hon Hai is building a 40-megawatt data center in Taiwan using an 800 VDC power supply architecture, and named 800 VDC ecosystems such as Delta, BizLink, Lite-On, and Hon Hai are all 800 VDC Pioneer in data center construction.
