Samsung finally announced the latest flagship chip Exynos 2500 before Galaxy Unpacked. This is Samsung's first mobile chip with 3-nanometer GAA (ringing gate) process, symbolizing a major breakthrough in high-level chip production.
Samsung official website information, Exynos 2500 fan-out wafer round-level packaging (FOWLP), greatly reducing wafer thickness, while improving heat dissipation efficiency and overall power consumption performance. The core is Arm's latest Cortex-X925 large core (Cortex-X5), which is as high as 3.3GHz, and seven Cortex-A725 performance cores and two Cortex-A520 energy efficiency cores. Memory LPDDR5X, with excellent performance and low power consumption.
Samsung test data, the performance of the Exynos 2500's large core has increased by about 15% compared with the previous generation, and the overall AI computing power has been improved by 39%, indicating that processing generative AI applications are powerful.
In terms of image processing, Exynos 2500 adopts Samsung's self-developed Xclipse 950 GPU, built on AMD RDNA3 architecture, supports hardware-accelerated optical tracking, and can output a 4K 120FPS screen, showing Samsung's continuous deepening of mobile game layout. The camera specifications continue to be designed in the previous generation, supporting up to 320MP sensors and 8K 30FPS recording performance.

However, the overall performance of the Exynos 2500 is still slightly higher than that of the Arm standard architecture, the NT3 nanometer N3E NT9400, and the Oryon architecture, and the NT8 Elite for the FinFET process.
Before Exynos 2500, Samsung said it had kicked a lot of iron boards. Due to the chip yield problem, the Galaxy S25 series originally built with its own SoC was finally switched to Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. Samsung also rarely admits that its own chips still cannot compete with Qualcomm's flagship processor. The turnover has greatly increased the cost of zero-piece purchases this year, with a purchase of up to about $400 million.
Despite this, Samsung has not given up. The outside world is generally not optimistic, and it still launched the new flagship chip Exynos 2500 to regain market confidence in the trial. According to foreign media reports, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to become the world's first folding flag-mounted mobile phone equipped with Exynos 2500, and will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked conference on July 9.
