On April 9, the American Medical Association journal JAMA published three articles related to vitamin D supplements. Their titles are:

Effect of Vitamin D Supplementation on Relapse-Free Survival Among Patients With Digestive Tract Cancers (the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the survival of patients with digestive tract tumors)

The first article was to investigate the survival rate of 417 patients with digestive tract tumors (from esophageal cancer to ectopic cancer). After surgical treatment, 251 of these patients took 2,000 vitamin D supplements per day, while another 166 patients took pussy. As a result, the survival rates of these two groups of patients were not different. However, the urinary stones appeared in the group of two patients taking Vitamin D supplements.

Effect of High-Dose vs Standard-Dose Vitamin D3 Supplementation on Progression-Free Survival Among Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

The second article was to investigate the survival rate of 139 patients with advanced or metastatic kidney cancer. After chemotherapy, 69 of these patients took 8,000 vitamin D supplements per day, while another 70 patients took 400 vitamin D supplements. As a result, the survival rates of these two groups of patients were only slightly different (13 months vs. 11 months).

Vitamin D as Cancer Therapy?

The third article is an editorial committee member’s comment on these two clinical trials. From the question in this article, it can be seen that the editorial committee is suspicious of the so-called vitamin D treatment of cancer. So, I briefly translated the first paragraph of this article as follows:

Over the past 30 years, we have explored the application of nutrient supplements in cancer prevention. Despite the strong observational evidence, random clinical trials of vitamin A (β-Hussarium), vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium and leaf acid failed to prove that they have a preventive effect on cancer. Especially in terms of kidney cancer, we have conducted quite detailed research, but all trials ended in failure.

The following article says that these two new clinical trials have once again proved that the vitamin D supplement is invalid.

I think most readers should know that I have provided a large amount of medical literature to prove the uselessness of vitamin D supplements. As for cancer, there is only one article that says it is beneficial, and there are at least 20 articles that say it is useless. With such a special ratio, why do we want to call out for the team that we are struggling to do?
